Portrait Session: Minister Toki Booker

One very rainy Saturday evening I had the pleasure of doing a portrait session with Minister Toki Booker. We had such a great time we almost didn't notice the time. Here are a few of the images from the session.

Very nice work. Out of the 4 I really like the last one. The tilt of the head, the slight wisp of the hair on the lower jaw and expression in the eyes really works.
Good stuff.

Thanks Joey, that's my favorite also.

Great work. The images convey a feeling of warmth and comfort. Also her fashion sense is fierce. Great lighting.

Thanks Trudy.

I had one heck of a time with my lights when we first started--the strobes wouldn't fire. In the shot with the blue outfit I quickly set my speedlite up with an umbrella, and we ended up with that more dramatic lighting. During the break for a wardrobe change the lights began to work. In the rest of the shots, I used a large octobank as my main light and the fill light to the left was a shoot-thru umbrella.

I am so pleased with all the photos. I can't tell you how much work it takes for a photo session like this, and Mary B and LaVelle (makeup) did an EXCELLENT job! What a FAB team to work with!! Thanks again Mary! ONWARD AND UPWARD we go....
