Meeting Chris Rabb

Author and speaker Chris Rabb."Be Prepared." There is definitely something to be said about that Boy Scouts' motto. A few months ago I was connected to Chris Rabb by a mutual friend. He needed some design work and photos. One afternoon out of the blue, I received an call from him that he would be in my area the day for a conference… could we get together to maybe do his portraits. I was a little surprised but I said, "Sure." After we coordinated a time I packed my camera bag and was on my way. We met, chatted a bit and walked around for about an hour. We stopped in a few spots and took photos. Chris ended up with a variety of images.

So, who is Chris Rabb? He is the author of the book, Invisible Capital: How Unseen Forces Shape Entrepreneurial Opportunity. I have it on my Kindle and highly recommend it for any entrepreneur. He is also a visiting researcher at Princeton University and a serial entrepreneur.

Hey, I Did That!

I've been a graphic designer for many, many years but I still get excited sometimes when I see my work printed... especially when it's rolling by on the side of a bus. Before you ask, no I didn't take the photo of Fantasia, I just designed the ad. This one is bit crooked, but I was excited none the less. Seen Around Newark

I was driving through town and pulled over to shoot this with my Blackberry. No matter how long I work as a designer or photographer, it's always cool to see my work in print. I took a photo of Newark City Councilman Gonzalez in December. Now it can be seen on a campaign poster for his re-election. It's nice to know they liked it enough to want to use it for the poster. Sweet!

Newark City Council Members

The Council Monitor, Winter 2009/2010Back in December, I had an opportunity to photo the Newark Municipal Council members for the cover of The Council Monitor. Though it was a pretty tight schedule, a few of the members stayed around and I shot individual portraits after we finished the group photo for the cover.
